BurHop was designed to build dancers up, to help instill a confidence that lasts longer than an 8 count. A confidence that is carried into their careers, friendships, relationships, but most of all- the relationship they have with themselves. BurHop is a safe environment for dancers to explore their movement. It is a brave space for growth, inspiration, and appreciation for one's self. Come join the experience!

The space that BurHop creates is so incredibly special. You walk into a workshop and you feel welcomed, accepted, and encouraged. It’s a place to celebrate your body, and move however your unique body moves. It is a space to let go, feel your feelings, and embrace yourself. It is therapeutic to the mind, body, and soul. BurHop is something I didn’t know I needed until I found it. And I suggest anyone who is interested to check it out, and join us at our next workshop!

BurHop has always been that chance to block out the noise of negativity. For me to focus on myself and embrace whoever I am in the moment. It has given me the confidence to step out of the background and have all eyes on me. Every workshop explores something different in movement, giving the dancer a chance to grow in many areas. I am always excited to go to the workshops, and leave feeling stronger. BurHop is for everyone no matter your dance level. All you need is a willingness to try.

When I walk into a Burhop space, I leave my day at the door and am greeted by smiling, goofy, positive people who can change my boring day to my favorite day. From monthly workshops to interactive performances, we try to give a little Burhop to everyone. As someone who is naturally competitive, it is hard not to compare myself to other dancers in a room and see the ways I do not stack up in terms of skill level or technique. BurHop allows me to forget about the competition and just appreciate the way my body moves as an individual. The BurHop experience removes labels put on us by society and ourselves and allows you to embrace every single part of yourself. BurHop is "dancing in front of the mirror at home" but with a room full of hype (wo)men. It doesn't get better than that!

BurHop changed my life. Picture this: a shy, nerdy engineer who liked to secretly get down. She finds a room full of people who don't try to change her, but celebrate her unique goofy personality to get her to feel the sexiest she ever has -- and believe that she IS sexy.
